Safe Detroit

I’m here in an attempt to help bring Detroiters together to build a better and safer community for our families and children. I’m certainly not here to degrade or demean our city but I’m not going to sugar coat it either. Detroit is a big city and that comes with big city problems. We also have local and somewhat unique issues that need to be dealt with. Detroit has more than it’s share of crime, poverty, unemployment and corruption. We also have have a strong will, large pockets of community pride and most of all we have hope! Together we can do a little each day to re-build the city we need and offer our children the future they deserve.

My name is Brian Hawkins and Safe Detroit is my project. I welcome anyone that wants to get involved. I will gladly add other Admins to this site if they can contribute. If you have any Blog or Wordpress experience and know Detroit and want to help, comment below and we’ll work out a strategy. Even if you have no experience posting to a Blog is very easy to learn.

I’m not sure what this Blog will amount to if anything at all. I plan to address issues and concerns and look for solutions. I plan to find resources and add them here for anyone to find. I welcome anyone involved with a community effort or project to contact me with the details so I can help promote it. This site is brand new with absolutely no traffic or influence but with any luck it will grow and become an asset for the people of Detroit.
